Self Representing Artist Jewelry Designer

About Me

Marnie Astley: Lansdowne, Ontario, Canada; I am an artist metalsmith based in the Kingston Ontario area. I create unique contemporary pieces as well as hammered medieval style jewelry, chain maille, small containers and whimsy's forged, pierced, cast and raised out of silver, copper, brass and pewter. I have a keen interest in experimenting with glass and forging iron as well. I am currently working from my shop at home in the 1000 Islands and spend each fall and winter volunteering as a silversmith instructor at Kingston Lapidary and Mineral Club & workshops at R and B Expressions in Gananoque. Inquire regarding 1 on 1 instruction in my very well equipped studio! Is there a remedy for Anvilmania??? Why the Silver Strumpet?

Some might wonder why I call my enterprise the Silver Strumpet.

It has to do with an obsession with silver; we silversmiths just can't get enough of it nor find enough ways to manipulate it!

At our shop, the cash is never at risk of being taken; its the silver we have to keep an eye on! ;-D
